Anda Chuira | Eggs with roasted beaten rice

Anda Chuira is one of favorite Nepali snack. Mostly because I associate anda chuira with my childhood, “the golden age.” It tastes like home. The use of Chuira, onions and familiar spices like cumin makes this one of the most Nepalisnacks as well as accessible snacks out there. In terms of convenience as well anda chuira ranks pretty high

My mother often used to pack anda chuira in my duitta khanda vayeko tiffin box.

The tactility of food is often downplayed but how the food feels inside our mouth also affects it’s perceived “flavor.” In Anda Chuira, the contrast of crunchy chuira along with soft eggs makes anda chuira a treat for your senses.

  • Ingredients

    • 1 bowl of beaten rice
    • 2 pieces of eggs
    • 1 small tomato finely chopped
    • 1 small sized onion finely chopped
    • Green coriander finely chopped
    • Green chilly finely chopped
    • Salt as per taste
    • chilli powder as per taste
    • 1 tbsp of cumin powder
    • 20ml of oil


  • Fry beaten rice until it becomes brown
  • In a seprerate bowl, beat the eggs. Add tomatoes, onions, green coriander, green chillies, salt, cumin powder and chilli powder and stir everything well
  • Heat oil in the frying pan and pour the mixture
  • After some time add fried beaten rice and cook it well
